WELCOME!

The Westport Police Department is located in Westport, Indiana which is located in Decatur County. We protect and serve the 1800 or so residents and businesses within the Town’s limits. If you come to Westport, you will find a caring small town community where neighbors and businesses work together hand-in-hand, children learn, laugh and play, and history lives…thriving with people who have devoted their lives to quality community living since its foundation on March 23rd, 1836.

In 2021, Westport will be celebrating its 185th Anniversary!

At the Westport Police Department, we truly believe that we have a nice and pretty quiet community of 1,510 citizens in our town and approximately 1,800 to 2,000 in our patrol zone along with our State wide jurisdiction. We also assist the Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police. Those departments are also available for assistance when needed. Our neighbors are watching out for one another and reporting suspicious activity or persons in town as well as rural outlying areas to our law enforcement agencies.

We welcome you to explore our Department’s website, we hope you will find the information contained informative and we hope you come to visit our great community.
